Singing together with the Children's Oncology Orchestra
On November 28th, 2015, the Teatr Rozrywki in Chorzów hosted the ninth concert of the Children’s Oncological Orchestra organized by the Iskierka Foundation. The children on stage were accompanied by the Choir of Tomorrow’s Constructors composed of representatives of the management staff of Mostostal Zabrze and Kopex Capital Groups and such artists as MARIKA and CARRANTUOHILL.
The leitmotif of the concert were favourite fairy tales for children such as Lamb of Shaun, Smurfs, King Julian, Minions and Snow Land. The concert was supported by Prof. Piotr Sutt as the artistic director of the whole project and a composer of electronic music, choirmaster Benedykt Odya and pianist Michał Kuzimski. The host was a well-known actor, director, announcer and director of the Korez Theatre Mirosław Neinert. The role of King Julian from the fairy tale “Madagascar” was played by dubbing master Jarosław Boberek.
The Children’s Oncology Orchestra plays once a year at the Concerts organized by the Iskierka Foundation. The Orchestra is made up of children between 4 and 18 years old struggling with cancer, who are wards of children’s oncology centres in Katowice, Chorzów and Zabrze together with their parents and doctors.
From the Mostostal Zabrze Capital Group, 16 people together with the Chairman of the Supervisory Board Krzysztof Jędrzejewski took part in the Concert. It was an unforgettable and unique experience for all of them. Hours of rehearsals on stage and then a joint performance with young artists is an impression that will stay with each of us for the rest of our lives.
The culmination of the Concert was a joint performance of the song “Let it go” from the movie Frozen. We believe that this power will remain with us for months and years to come, the Iskierka Foundation will bring more donors and sick children will be restored to the health they so need.
