16 years and 22 drilling rigs! More than 16 years – this is how long Mostostal Zabrze Realizacje Przemysłowe S.A. (MZRP) has been cooperating with its Norwegian customer MH Wirth AS (and its legal predecessors). During this time, the company supplied steel structures for 21 drilling rigs; and it has just finalised the order for another one.

The new order includes the delivery of the steel structure for the drilling rig for the WEST WHITE ROSE Project, including the purchase of materials and the prefabrication of approx. 290 tonnes of steel structures with galvanizing and test assembly.

The Company’s reference list in this area of its activities should be emphasised. Previous “drilling rig” projects included the construction of drilling rig structures for the following projects: Azeri (4 items), Seadrill (2 items), Petrorig (3 items), Seadrill (1 item), Cop & Dalian (2 items), Sevan (2 items), Guarapari (1 item), DRU 7 + Cobalt (2 items), Mariner (1 item) and DRU2, CDC6, BT4000 (3 items).

In 2016, as part of the CDC project, Mostostal also supervised the assembly of the drilling rig for the first time. This allowed the Company to extend the range of services provided to customers. It was also a new challenge for the Company – several thousand-tonne structures set in seas have to withstand powerful loads, and their construction requires strict technological regime. The rig is finally located in the Caspian Sea.

Apart from drilling rigs, the current cooperation also included the supply of the mast as part of the P&A Mast (2016).

Apart from the prefabrication of steel structures, it is also worth paying attention to references related to the designs of drilling rigs implemented by PI BIPROHUT, the designing company of Mostostal, in the years 2010 – 2014. The design process included the preparation of the construction and implementation documentation.
