A company from the Mostostal Zabrze Group signed a contract for the establishment of Hospital Emergency Ward with a landing pad in Zabrze. The contract was signed between Mostostal Zabrze Gliwickie Przedsiębiorstwo Budownictwa Przemysłowego S.A. and Szpital Miejski w Zabrzu Sp. z o.o. The contract value is PLN 20.9 million net.

The investment will include the building of a three-storey extension of Szpital Miejski w Zabrzu which will constitute an Emergency Ward with the ambulance driveway and an operating block (2 operating rooms). A landing pad will be built above the roof level of the EW building. Additionally, the structure will be extended by a separate one-storey building, which will house an Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Unit as well as a modernised operating block. The scope of the project will also include the supply of medical equipment.

This is another contract signed by Mostostal Zabrze Gliwickie Przedsiębiorstwo Budownictwa Przemysłowego S.A. in the field of hospital construction industry. For many years the Company has been specialising in the construction, extension and modernisation of hospital facilities.

In the previous years, the Company implemented a number of complex projects related to hospital facilities. Major projects included:

• The Oncology Centre – Maria Skłodowska-Curie Memorial Institute, branch in Gliwice (Centrum Instytutu Onkologii im. Marii Skłodowskiej–Curie Oddział w Gliwicach) where Mostostal Zabrze Gliwickie Przedsiębiorstwo Budownictwa Przemysłowego S.A. implemented a number of projects related to the buildings being a part of a complex of buildings – starting from the construction of the Center itself, ending with its expansion and works relating to renovation and modernisation. Implemented tasks included:
  – Construction of the Upper Silesian Oncology Hospital in Gliwice (original name of the Oncology Center).
  – Construction of the PET Center, including: construction, provision of the basic equipment and commissioning of the PET Pavilion.
  – Extension of the hospital building by a new facility, reconstruction of the Outpatient Clinic and conversion of the In-patient ward into the outpatient clinic on the second floor of the Hospital building.
  – Extension by 4 radiation bunkers and modernisation of the Radiotherapy Department.
  – Renovation and modernisation works.
• “Construction of the Radiology Department at the St. Luke Provincial Hospital in Tarnów (Szpital Wojewódzki im. św. Łukasza w Tarnowie)”.

The following works were performed as part of the above-mentioned task: earthworks, construction of reinforced concrete walls, ceilings and columns, heavy insulation, aluminum and glass facades, skylight with aluminum construction, roofing (roof membrane), partition walls, finishing works, terraces, railing, hydraulic elevators, building systems and land development.

Other contracts related to the hospital construction industry executed by the Company include e.g.:

• “Reconstruction, upward extension, outward extension and renovation of the building of the VA block of the Specialised Hospital no. 2 in Bytom (Szpital Specjalistyczny nr 2 w Bytomiu)“.
• Extension of the B1 hospital building for the Chorzów Paediatrics and Oncology Center in Chorzów (Chorzowskie Centrum Pediatrii i Onkologii w Chorzowie).
• Reconstruction and extension of the “A” building of the Hospital in Kedzierzyn-Koźle (Szpital Zespolony in Kędzierzyn-Koźle)”.
• Performance of adaptation and modernisation works in the historic building of the former gynaecological and obstetric pavilion of the Hospital no. 1, along with the renovation and extension of technical facilities intended for the Burn Treatment Center in Siemianowice Śląskie (Centrum Leczenia Oparzeń in Siemianowice Śląskie).
• Modernisation of segment F of the Municipal Hospital in Ruda Śląska – Godula (Szpital Miejski in Ruda Śląska – Godula).
• Planning and executing construction works related to the expansion of the Teleradiotherapy Department in the Beskid Oncology Center in Bielsko-Biała (Beskidzkie Centrum Onkologii w Bielsku-Białej).
• Renovation, extension and conversion of the existing Admission Room for the purposes of the Emergency Ward – stage 1 and adaptation of premises and the Emergency Ward – stage 2, Municipal Hospital in Zabrze Biskupice (Szpital Miejski w Zabrzu Biskupicach).
• Extension and modernisation of the District Hospital in Mikołów (Szpital Powiatowy w Mikołowie) – performance of construction works and installation of interior building systems.
