A company of Mostostal Zabrze Group will construct two halls in Kobierzyce near Wroclaw for LG Chemical Wrocław Energy Sp. z o.o. as part of the automotive battery manufacturing plant being built by the Korean investor.

MOSTOSTAL ZABRZE Gliwickie Przedsiębiorstwo Budownictwa Przemysłowego S.A. (MZ GPBP) has signed two agreements with the General Contractor, i.e. a consortium of companies comprising GS Engineering & Construction Joint Venture and SERVEONE POLAND Sp. z o.o., for reinforced concrete construction of two halls in Kobierzyce.

The total net value of these commissions is PLN 59.9 million, and the completion date has been scheduled for March and May 2019, respectively.

The detailed scope encompasses reinforced concrete works, including foundations, ground beams, external retaining walls, loading docks and composite floors with steel decking as part of expanding the plant producing automotive batteries. The floor decking system to be used in the construction of the plant comes from Korea and constitutes a relatively innovative solution on the Polish market.

The factory is supposed to be able to produce as many as 100 thousand batteries per year. It is going to be the largest plant of this kind in Europe.

This is yet another contract performed by MZ GPBP for a Korean customer. The company has already cooperated with POSCO Engineering & Construction CO., LTD in constructing the Thermal Waste Treatment Plant in Cracow.
